Senior Network Engineer

Location: Remote from the United States; work is performed from the colleague’s home

Salary: $86,499–$138,399 per year

What you will do

• Provide and maintain network connectivity services across the organization’s networks.
• Configure, upgrade, and deploy routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, and other network devices.
• Troubleshoot circuit equipment, network incidents, and connectivity problems, and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor network issues, resolve incident tickets, and document updates and resolutions in the case management system.
• Complete network changes in accordance with service-level agreements and maintain network documentation, lab equipment, and inventory.
• Design and engineer network service infrastructure, prototype services, conduct laboratory experiments, and contribute to technical standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent education, training, or work experience.
• Typically 5–7 years of hands-on experience engineering network infrastructure, diagnosing network problems, and installing and configuring network equipment.
• Knowledge of routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, network and routing protocols, and DNS.
• Knowledge of operating systems, network devices, software development, and basic IT architecture.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical personnel, and manage complex issues.
• Ability to establish and maintain a suitable home office for remote work in the United States.
