What you will do

  • Represent Bentley in EU and national policy debates concerning digitalization of infrastructure, with a primary focus on energy infrastructure.
  • Monitor horizontal policy topics including AI and machine learning, cybersecurity, public procurement, and personal and non-personal data.
  • Lead government relations advocacy in a key EU market and execute public policy projects with guidance from the Senior Director.
  • Coordinate meetings with policymakers and internal and external stakeholders to achieve advocacy goals.
  • Represent Bentley in trade and industry associations and events.
  • Prepare presentations, one-pagers, and substantive policy papers, and advise Sales, Legal, and Communications colleagues on EU policy matters.

Requirements

  • Four to seven years of government relations experience in Brussels, an EU public institution, industry group, or consultancy.
  • Experience engaging EU policymakers and executing public policy projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of EU political and legislative processes and an established stakeholder network in Brussels and/or at national level.
  • Understanding of digital policy, especially digitalization of energy infrastructure, and basic knowledge of EU infrastructure funding programs.
  • Master’s degree in law, public policy, political science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent English and at least one additional EU language required; 10–15% travel required.
