What you will do

• Develop foundational technologies for automated electronic trading strategies in Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities.
• Analyze trading system performance and identify opportunities to improve price making, risk management, and commercial performance.
• Design, implement, test, deploy, and support trading system enhancements.
• Improve the safety, reliability, and deterministic performance of low-latency distributed systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, traders, sales teams, and other technology groups.
• Balance short-term business needs with strategic platform improvements.

Requirements

• Strong academic background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or another analytical field.
• Strong software engineering experience and the ability to analyze data and draw commercial conclusions.
• Experience building systems with strict low-latency and deterministic performance requirements.
• Experience tuning and optimizing distributed systems.
• Working knowledge of the Linux shell and the ability to communicate technical topics to non-specialist audiences.
• Productive collaboration with sales, trading, and technology teams.

Nice to have

• Securities or electronic trading experience.
• Multithreaded and concurrent programming experience.
• JIT compilation, code-path optimization, memory management, or JVM tuning for low latency.
• Low-latency messaging, network protocols, Java network I/O, or JNI experience.
• Knowledge of hardware architecture and Linux kernel or operating system internals.
