Lead Engineer, Trading Platform Engineering (Crypto)

What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance trading systems using C and Java.
• Engineer performance-critical components across user space and Linux kernel interfaces, including memory, scheduling, I/O, drivers, and filesystems.
• Develop and tune multicast and unicast UDP/TCP networking pipelines, including kernel-bypass and fast-path networking with DPDK and XDP.
• Optimize deterministic latency through CPU isolation, thread pinning, NUMA locality, cache awareness, and reduced lock contention.
• Apply distributed-systems patterns for total ordering and consistency.
• Profile, debug, and operate production systems using perf, strace, eBPF, flame graphs, SLOs, performance tests, and runbooks.

Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency in Java and strong systems programming experience with C.
• Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals, memory management, driver models, and scheduler tuning.
• Practical experience with end-to-end latency optimization, jitter reduction, and lock-free or wait-free programming.
• Strong networking knowledge, including socket options, buffer sizing, epoll, io_uring, RSS, and NIC queue configuration.
• Understanding of concurrency, synchronization primitives, memory models, and distributed-systems ordering patterns.
• Evidence-based engineering approach using benchmarks, profiling, rigorous code reviews, mentoring, and documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with financial markets, market data, order routing, FIX, or exchange-native protocols.
• Knowledge of PTP, RDMA, NIC offloads, kernel modules, or device drivers.
• Experience with eBPF tracing, low-latency JVM and deterministic GC tuning, or advanced benchmarking methodology.
