VAR Replay Operator (Sports Technology)

Location: On-site at the A-League VAR Centre in Artarmon, Sydney, Australia, with potential travel across Australia and New Zealand

What you will do

• Set up and configure Hawk-Eye SMART Replay systems at the VAR Centre and stadium venues.
• Operate replay controls during live A-League matches and provide multi-angle video replays to match officials.
• Complete pre-match system checks and confirm operational readiness.
• Communicate with A-League officials, stadium and club personnel, and host broadcasters.
• Analyse software performance, troubleshoot technical issues, maintain hardware, and identify replacement parts.
• Coordinate equipment logistics for travel between stadium locations in Australia and New Zealand.

Requirements

• Must hold the legal right to live and work in Australia.
• Strong knowledge of football, VAR protocols, and the Laws of the Game.
• Technical aptitude in broadcast technology, IT, or PC networking and the ability to learn specialized software quickly.
• Calm, efficient problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, high-pressure live broadcast environment.
• Excellent communication skills for working with clients, production staff, and match officials.
• Availability for irregular hours, primarily weekends and evening match fixtures.

Nice to have

• Experience with VT or replay technology, live event production, or broadcast systems.
• Formal training or a background in Broadcast Technology, Information Technology, or Media Production.
