Counsel, Business Affairs (Mobile Gaming)

Location: London, England, United Kingdom; hybrid position with in-office attendance required four times a week.

What you will do

• Draft, analyze, negotiate, and track high-volume commercial agreements for entertainment content creation, production, marketing, and distribution.
• Advise game development, engineering, mobile platform, app store, user acquisition, ad tech, monetization, IP licensing, and product distribution teams.
• Handle mobile gaming agreements including MSAs, monetization agreements, insertion orders, DPAs, and vendor contracts.
• Structure and analyze transactions involving third-party content, technology, music, talent, distribution, advertising, analytics, and software rights.
• Provide day-to-day legal and business affairs counsel on copyright, technology, corporate, regulatory, and contractual matters.
• Assess complex legal risks and support publishing labels in creating and distributing innovative products.

Requirements

• 3+ years of post-qualification experience in-house or at a law firm.
• Qualified and in good standing as a solicitor or barrister in England and Wales, or in a relevant jurisdiction.
• Strong contracting expertise and excellent legal drafting skills.
• Experience with complex corporate or IP transactions involving content creation, production, clearance, marketing, or distribution.
• Experience with software and technology licensing and development.
• Strong communication skills, commercial judgment, and the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience in entertainment or technology law, or significant corporate experience with an interest in transitioning into these areas.
• Enthusiasm for the videogame industry.
• Eagerness to embrace AI and other new technologies in legal practice.
