Laboratory Technician II (Chemistry)

Location: East Chicago, Indiana, United States; onsite laboratory role. Third shift, 10:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m., with some rotating weekends.

Salary: $26.35 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare and analyze routine inbound, in-process, and outbound samples.
• Perform tank analyses to verify product specifications.
• Produce analytical results, calibrations, and quality-control data in accordance with QC/QA guidelines.
• Identify data anomalies and determine when follow-up is required.
• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned laboratory instruments.
• Complete statistical calculations, inventory, housekeeping, waste disposal, and analytical sequences with colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in science required; chemistry or physical/life sciences preferred.
• 1–3 years of related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of statistical process control and laboratory standard operating procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, stoop, and stand for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Experience with inbound receipt analysis using GC for PCB and chlorine.
• Experience with ICP metals analysis, viscometer, pour point, particle count, or NOACK testing.
