Linguistic and Childhood Language Development Specialist (AAC) - Norwegian

What you will do

• Provide expertise in Norwegian childhood language development for AAC content.
• Help develop a lexical database organizing words by part of speech and morphological form.
• Evaluate existing lexical data sources and review lexical data for errors and corrections.
• Collaborate with software developers and AAC content experts to define Norwegian language-specific features and expected behaviors.
• Review software products and AAC implementations for accurate Norwegian vocabulary, grammar, and syntax support.

Requirements

• Native Norwegian speaker.
• Fluent English and ability to discuss complex linguistic concepts with English-speaking developers.
• Background in linguistics and childhood language development.
• Strong knowledge of Norwegian grammar, morphology, language development research, and vocabulary acquisition.
• Conceptual understanding of AAC principles and the representation of vocabulary, grammar, and language development in AAC systems.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AAC vocabulary organization, content design, or communication support tools for children.
• Experience reviewing lexical resources, language data, or language-focused software products.
