Director, Test Engineering (PCBA)

Location: Hybrid role based in San Jose, California, or Wichita, Kansas, United States, with in-office and in-person expectations.

Salary: USD 196,350–292,600 annual OTE, including base salary and potential commission.

What you will do

• Define and execute PCBA manufacturing test strategy across In-Circuit Test, Boundary Scan Test, Functional Verification Test, and Environmental Stress Screening.
• Lead test development and deployment for New Product Introduction programs and production ramps.
• Improve sustaining manufacturing test processes, automation, coverage, efficiency, factory yields, and cost.
• Lead an engineering organization of managers and approximately eleven engineers across San Jose, Wichita, and Taipei.
• Partner with hardware, firmware, software, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
• Oversee test architecture, fixtures, instrumentation, diagnostics, manufacturing data analysis, budgets, staffing, and executive-level reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
• At least 15 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing test engineering, product validation, or related technical functions.
• At least 8 years of people leadership experience, including management of managers and technical teams.
• Strong expertise in PCBA manufacturing test methodologies, including ICT, BST, FVT, and ESS.
• Experience supporting both NPI programs and sustaining manufacturing operations.
• Experience with global manufacturing partners, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and cross-functional engineering organizations.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related technical discipline.
• Experience with enterprise storage systems, networking products, server platforms, or complex electronic systems.
• Experience with manufacturing test automation, data analytics, and advanced diagnostics.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement certification.
