Director, System Test (Satellite Connectivity)

Location: Mountain View, California; hybrid

Salary: $215,000–$225,000 annually plus equity in the Bay Area, or $185,000–$195,000 annually plus equity in other U.S. locations.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end system testing across RAN infrastructure, 3GPP-based cloud-native core networks, provisioning systems, and customer and MNO integrations.
• Manage a global system test organization using OKRs and KPIs while staying technically engaged in diagnosing complex system failures.
• Define a data-driven system test strategy covering test coverage, automation efficiency, and defect escape prevention.
• Design and scale the worldwide system test architecture and lab strategy across physical devices, satellite channel emulators, and cloud-based automation agents.
• Maintain traceability between product requirements, test coverage, and release acceptance criteria.
• Establish company-wide standards for quality, test automation, validation infrastructure, and release readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, telecommunications, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on telecommunications system testing or test automation experience, including at least 5 years in technical leadership or people management.
• Experience with an MNO, MVNO, or network equipment vendor, including familiarity with operational processes and partner onboarding.
• Hands-on experience with formal network change control, quality gates, and test-to-release workflows.
• Proficiency with cloud-based test infrastructure, preferably GCP, test automation frameworks such as Robot Framework, and 3GPP RAN/core protocol analysis tools.
• Experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams and translating technical risks for engineering, operations, product, and external partners.

Nice to have

• Experience applying machine learning to test automation, anomaly detection, or network performance analysis.
• Exposure to GEO or LEO satellite testing and 3GPP NTN standards from Release 17 onward.
