Manager, Technical Project / Program Management – SmartStart Mayan Automation

Location: Austin, TX, United States. Relocation eligible. International travel is required, with travel listed at 10% and up to 10–30% in the qualifications.

Salary: $120,000–$165,000 per year, plus potential bonus and stock award compensation.

What you will do

• Lead and develop engineering teams delivering Mayan automation programs across strategic business units.
• Own end-to-end automation programs for installation and warranty operations, from problem identification through deployment and benefits realization.
• Partner with intelligence, engineering, quality, installation, warranty, and field organizations to identify pain points, repeat nonconformances, warranty drivers, and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Oversee test plans, Mayan scripts, diagnostics, troubleshooting workflows, test automation, modularization, and standardized reporting.
• Manage program scope, schedules, risks, dependencies, deliverables, KPIs, savings, and benefits realization.
• Support installation readiness, field adoption, training, documentation, knowledge transfer, and customer-site engagements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience in technical program management, manufacturing, installation, or field support; semiconductor or capital equipment experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor capital equipment systems, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process subsystems.
• Experience with system installation, testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, test automation, and efficiency improvement.
• Familiarity with SAP, iOMS, Smart Factory, Mayan, or equivalent manufacturing and operational systems.
• Experience leading cross-functional and matrixed teams, with strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and continuous-improvement skills.
