Sr. CMF Engineer

What you will do

• Own CMF engineering deliverables within NPI projects and drive alignment with JDM and ODM partners.
• Select and validate material systems and manufacturing processes through trial-run assessments.
• Define CMF technical specifications, aesthetic protocols, inspection criteria, and limit samples for development sign-off.
• Evaluate early design concepts and recommend engineering refinements that improve aesthetic quality, manufacturability, and production yield.
• Diagnose technical failures and aesthetic defects using DFM, DFMEA, FACA, and root cause analysis.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in materials engineering, mechanical design, industrial design, project engineering, or a related engineering function for high-volume consumer electronics.
• Strong knowledge of material systems, finishing processes, color and appearance management, material analysis, and reliability validation.
• Experience with DFM, DFMEA, data analysis, NPI cycles, and JDM/ODM trial-run sign-offs.
• Good command of English and proficiency in Chinese are required for presenting technical data to global stakeholders.
• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in materials science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial design, or a related field.
• Experience leveraging AI in professional workflows.

Nice to have

• Audio/video product development experience with global JDM, ODM, or CM models.
• Experience working with global suppliers and availability to travel up to 15%.
• Knowledge of RoHS and REACH, plus experience implementing eco-friendly material systems and sustainable CMF solutions.
