Environmental Field Chemist (CleanPack Chemist)

Location: Groveport, Ohio; onsite work at customer sites daily

Salary: $24–25 per hour with overtime

What you will do

• Handle, collect, segregate, sample, profile, and package hazardous and non-hazardous chemical waste for disposal.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifests, and land-disposal restriction notifications.
• Inspect staging, accumulation, and storage areas, including drums, for leaks, spills, labeling, housekeeping, and shipment readiness.
• Execute lab-pack, household hazardous-waste collection, lab-move, and other projects at customer facilities.
• Prepare and approve projects for shipment in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and site-specific regulations.
• Operate vehicles safely and follow customer, corporate, environmental, health, and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and strong customer-service skills.
• Obtain a CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsements within six months of employment.
• Ability to perform the physical functions required for the position.
• Successful completion of a background check, drug test, and physical examination where required.
• Meet facial-hair requirements when respiratory protection is required under OSHA standards.
• Preferred: college degree in Chemistry or Natural Science and experience in environmental services, remediation, abatement, or emergency spill response.
