Facilities Technician III (Hazardous Waste)

Location: Billerica, Massachusetts, United States; on-site facilities work

Salary: $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience

What you will do

• Coordinate daily hazardous waste inventories, shipments, satellite waste inspections, and pickups.
• Create and maintain regulatory documentation, including DOT manifests and internal records.
• Coordinate internal lab packs with end users and vendors.
• Perform facilities equipment maintenance, cleaning, calibrations, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
• Respond to emergency situations, prioritize work orders, and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Follow HSE programs, investigate incidents when required, and stop or report unsafe work conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience or training.
• RCRA certification and DOT Hazmat Transportation certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to move chemical drums and totes, climb ladders, staging, and platforms, and lift or carry loads of 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to use work order systems, email, personal computers or PDAs, and Microsoft Office Outlook.

Nice to have

• Massachusetts Wastewater Level 1 license or the ability to obtain it within one year.
