Senior Engineering Manager (HVAC)

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States; onsite Monday through Thursday, with a flexible work location on Fridays

Annual base salary: $113,600–$161,945. Incentive eligible; not eligible for sales commission.

What you will do

• Lead Design-to-Order Engineering and Sustaining Engineering for the Grand Rapids site.
• Manage, coach, and develop engineering managers, engineers, and technical team members.
• Direct custom product execution, ensuring solutions are technically sound, manufacturable, cost-effective, and aligned with business priorities.
• Oversee design changes, product improvements, cost reduction, reliability and quality initiatives, obsolescence management, and production support.
• Partner with Product Management, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Service, and commercial teams.
• Drive engineering governance, requirements management, design reviews, validation, documentation, change control, prioritization, and complex issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, product development, HVAC, thermal systems, industrial equipment, or similar engineered-product environments.
• 5+ years of engineering leadership experience with responsibility for people leadership, team development, and business execution.
• Experience leading multiple engineering functions or a broad scope covering design-to-order, sustaining, product support, or manufacturing support.
• Strong knowledge of product lifecycle processes, including design release, change management, validation, documentation control, and production support.
