Senior Environmental Compliance Manager (Environmental Compliance): Managing contamination investigations and remediation across a branch network while providing environmental regulatory support to field operations with an accent on EPA and DOT compliance, regulatory reporting, and facility audits. Focus on coordinating laboratories and remediation, preparing documentation for cost recovery or litigation, and communicating regulatory changes to management and field teams.

Location: Elgin, Illinois; office location may be flexible, with preference for the corporate office in Norwell, Massachusetts or a facility location. Minimal to no travel is required.

Salary: $65,100–$201,553.80 annually

What you will do

  • Investigate and resolve contamination events, coordinating laboratory work, profiling, remediation, and documentation.
  • Prepare documentation for cost recovery and potential litigation.
  • Conduct environmental and regulatory reporting for assigned report types and facilities.
  • Review facility practices and procedures for compliance with federal and state environmental regulations.
  • Identify non-compliance issues, recommend corrective actions, and follow up on remediation.
  • Conduct compliance audits and communicate regulatory changes and requirements to management, field personnel, sales teams, and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Chemistry or Environmental Science.
  • 4+ years of compliance experience.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) laws and regulations required.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) laws and regulations preferred.
  • Excellent communication, writing, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to comply with health, safety, and environmental policies and complete required training.
