Senior Mechanical Engineer (Semiconductor)

What you will do

• Lead mechanical design for ion implanter subsystems, including process chambers, beamline structures, wafer handling, and vacuum chambers.
• Develop precision motion mechanisms and complex electromechanical assemblies.
• Perform hand calculations and FEA/CFD analyses covering structural integrity, thermal behavior, and modal response.
• Produce detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, and bills of materials using Creo, AutoCAD, Windchill, and Glovia.
• Conduct design reviews, apply DfX principles, perform GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis, and validate designs through prototyping.
• Drive manufacturability, reliability, cost-reduction, testing, and compliance with SEMI S2/S8 and internal safety standards while collaborating with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

• 4–5 years of experience in the semiconductor domain.
• BSME in Mechanical Engineering required; an MS is preferred.
• At least 1 year of CAD experience with Creo.
• Experience with PLM systems.
• Ability to work onsite in Beverly, Massachusetts.
• Experience with engineering test plans, design reviews, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and FEA tools such as Creo Simulate or ANSYS.

Nice to have

• Experience with end stations and wafer handling systems.
• Semiconductor equipment design and vacuum systems expertise.
• Experience with reverse engineering and precision motion systems.
