Engineering Technician - Maintenance P4 - 1st Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan; On-site five days per week

What you will do

• Install, maintain, analyze, and repair mechanical and electrical production equipment, tools, machinery, and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose malfunctions using work orders, observations, manufacturer manuals, schematics, and prints.
• Support multiple production lines by repairing equipment and building special items when needed.
• Communicate equipment status to internal customers and coordinate outside services and equipment repairs.
• Prepare bills of material, initiate purchase requisitions, and prioritize urgent maintenance needs.
• Operate material-handling equipment and follow the plant lockout/tagout plan and required safety procedures.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in an electrical or machining maintenance environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience with a broad range of mechanical equipment and competency in machine repair and electrical trades in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, remain standing or seated for most of the workday, and perform bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching.
• This is a safety-sensitive role and may require additional drug screening.

Nice to have

• Journeyman certificate.
• Degree in Maintenance Technology or equivalent education.
