Senior Embedded Logging Software Developer (C/C++)

Location: Hybrid, with a minimum of three office days per week in Markham or Oshawa, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 115,000–164,600 per year

What you will do

• Design and implement embedded observability software across Android Automotive, Linux, and QNX platforms.
• Build control-plane libraries for configuration retrieval, validation, arbitration, persistence, and fallback to the last known good state.
• Define data-plane behaviors for dependable telemetry streaming and file-based transfer under changing connectivity and resource conditions.
• Support vehicle-local data access, including USB-based retrieval when connectivity is limited.
• Implement runtime controls and cybersecurity and data-protection measures for local and remote observability data.
• Lead feature development, reviews, verification, documentation, Agile collaboration, and mentoring of junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of embedded software development or systems engineering across Android, Linux, and/or QNX.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Android Java, including platform-level integrations.
• Experience designing metrics or telemetry for operational visibility and remote control at fleet scale.
• Clear technical communication, cross-team collaboration, and design documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with control-plane services, observability components, and streaming or file-based data pipelines.
• Experience designing driver- or HMI-initiated capture flows.
• Knowledge of automotive cybersecurity, data protection, ECU architectures, SoC platforms, diagnostics, and failure analysis.
• Exposure to OpenTelemetry, protobuf, gRPC, or open-source observability and logging ecosystems.
