Senior Embedded Engineer (C++)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid schedule with in-office work required on Wednesdays and Thursdays

Salary: CAD 110,900–144,200 per year, plus eligibility for variable compensation and short- and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize embedded software for home monitoring and camera functionality.
• Build software across small battery-operated microcontrollers and multicore embedded Linux systems.
• Develop low-level hardware interactions, device applications, network protocols, control algorithms, and graphical user interfaces.
• Conduct performance analysis and improve system performance, reliability, and testability.
• Develop test fixtures to validate the functionality of manufactured devices.
• Collaborate with QA, Product Management, Manufacturing, Hardware, other software teams, and third-party technology providers on product integrations.

Requirements

• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Extensive experience developing embedded software applications and knowledge of embedded Linux.
• Experience with object-oriented design, data structures, design patterns, and multithreaded development.
• Knowledge of ARM architecture-based processors and development tools.
• Experience developing graphical user interfaces and programming for reliability and testability.
• Knowledge of home automation, control systems, Internet of Things, camera pipelines, or image processing.

Nice to have

• Experience building Wi-Fi camera products.
