TL;DR
Student Success Advisor (Indigenous Student Support): Supporting First Peoples students through proactive outreach, engagement, and frontline student services at Griffith University with an accent on retention, progression, and culturally appropriate support. Focus on building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, coordinating student success activities, and delivering high-quality services across the Gold Coast campus and other university locations.

Location: Primarily based at hirify.global Gold Coast, Australia, with work across other university locations as required; a mix of on-campus and work-from-home options is available.

Salary: HEW 6 base range A$94,966.18–A$101,295.51 per year plus 17% superannuation. Full package range: A$111,110.42–A$118,515.75 per year.

What you will do

  • Provide proactive frontline outreach, engagement, and support for First Peoples students.
  • Support students from outreach and recruitment through orientation, retention, progression, and graduation.
  • Deliver high-quality student services in a safe and culturally appropriate learning environment.
  • Build partnerships and collaborate with internal and external staff and stakeholders.
  • Work independently and as part of the GUMURRII Student Success Unit across university locations.

Requirements

  • Degree with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Passion for collaboration, student service, and achieving positive student outcomes.
  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn systems and processes quickly, with developed IT skills including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and database software.
  • Blue Card or willingness and ability to obtain one.
  • Applicants must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, with proof of descent, identity, and community acceptance required.
  • Unrestricted Australian working rights are required; visa sponsorship is not available.
