Director, UK People & Culture

Location: London, UK. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

Salary: £66,000–£75,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead IRC UK’s People & Culture team and localise the global people strategy within the UK regulatory and organisational environment.
• Oversee end-to-end HR service delivery, including recruitment, onboarding, contracts, payroll coordination, benefits, performance, leave management, offboarding, and HR systems.
• Advise senior leaders on workforce planning, organisational design, restructures, staff consultations, redundancies, and organisational effectiveness.
• Promote employee engagement, wellbeing, inclusion, safeguarding, and the integration of IRC values across the employee lifecycle.
• Manage the relationship with Unite trade union representatives and lead consultation and annual salary review negotiations through the Joint Negotiating Committee.
• Provide HR reporting to the UK Board and People & Culture Committee, including Gender Pay Gap and Ethnicity Pay Gap reporting.

Requirements

• CIPD qualification and significant HR leadership experience across the full People & Culture spectrum.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law, including experience with restructures, TUPE, and employee relations.
• Experience advising and influencing senior leaders in a complex, global matrix organisation.
• Experience working with trade unions, including leading consultations and negotiations.
• People management experience, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, confidentiality, tact, and intercultural communication.
• Right to work in the UK is required.
