Data Center/Chiller Technician (HVAC)

Location: Carrollton, Texas, United States. Field-based work conducted onsite at customer locations, with overnight travel to other areas and occasional extensive travel.

Hourly base pay: $33.76–$59.08.

What you will do

• Commission, start up, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair air-cooled and water-cooled chillers and related HVAC systems.
• Coordinate onsite installations and repairs with service leaders, project managers, customers, and data center partners.
• Use software, handheld devices, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to verify and repair equipment operation.
• Support mission-critical, zero-downtime environments through procedural documentation, problem solving, and service-level agreement awareness.
• Maintain safety, equipment accountability, and service records while working with customers in high-stress situations.
• Coach and train less experienced technicians as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 5+ years of commercial HVAC/chiller experience, including systems-level knowledge.
• Experience with chiller preparation, commissioning, operational verification, post-start performance checks, and repairs.
• EPA certification and a valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months with an acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency with software used to connect to and check chiller operation, Microsoft Office, and handheld computers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays.

Nice to have

• Data center experience, including familiarity with L2–L5 project phases.
• BMS experience.
• Technical school or formal technical training.
