Technical Service Technician (HVAC)

Location: Remote in the United States, based in Blauvelt, New York; occasional travel to the Blauvelt office and customer sites is required.

Pay: $36.60–$43.55 per hour

What you will do

• Support customers, sales representatives, and service technicians by phone with product and service issues.
• Troubleshoot customer complaints and visit customer sites to resolve product and service problems.
• Create technical service procedures, bulletins, operations and maintenance documentation, and preventive-maintenance procedures.
• Deliver product and service training seminars for representatives and service technicians at AERCO and in the field.
• Coordinate with engineering on new troubleshooting requirements and participate in cross-functional product and problem-solving teams.
• Travel approximately 25% and support plant tours, projects, and other duties assigned by the Technical Services Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least five years of experience in the heating and domestic water-heating industry.
• Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, communications, controls, and hardware.
• Knowledge of installation, operation, and maintenance requirements for steam and gas-fired equipment.
• Understanding of applicable laws, codes, regulations, safety practices, and procedures.
• Must establish employment eligibility and pass background checks, drug screening, and required pre-employment testing.

Nice to have

• Technical or vocational training in HVAC or mechanical systems.
• HVAC certification.
