Sr Pre-Construction Manager - Henderson Building Solutions

Location: Washington, D.C. and Chantilly, Virginia, United States. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility will be verified.

Salary: $119,712–$179,568 per year

What you will do

• Lead planning, assessment, conceptual design, estimating, bidding, buyout, and turnover for large and complex design-build opportunities.
• Develop technical solutions, pricing strategies, proposals, budgets, and project turnover packages.
• Coordinate site investigations, field data collection, design-assist activities, long-lead items, and project logistics.
• Lead subcontractor and vendor bidding, evaluate proposals, recommend selections, and support contract negotiations.
• Serve as the primary client contact and support client pursuits and business development.
• Manage 2–3 direct reports, assign resources, conduct evaluations, and mentor and train pre-construction staff.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in construction management, pre-construction, estimating, or building systems design.
• Advanced knowledge of technical practices, industry codes and standards, contractual methods, budgeting, and design-build delivery.
• Experience managing multiple priorities, solving complex project issues, and collaborating with clients and project teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English, plus legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or a related discipline.
• FE certification or PE license.
• Experience leading large-scale design-build projects, client pursuits, proposal development, and estimating strategies.
• Experience mentoring estimators, project engineers, or pre-construction professionals.
• Experience with mission-critical, industrial, healthcare, manufacturing, higher education, or similarly complex facilities.
