Senior Data Engineer (AI Platform) (Python/Snowflake/LLM): Building secure data pipelines, reusable services, and platform capabilities that move AI use cases from experimentation to production with an accent on RAG, embeddings, vector search, enterprise data access, and governance. Focus on designing scalable AI infrastructure, implementing observability and evaluation, and enabling reliable production use of LLMs and AI workflows.
Location: Fully remote; work from anywhere, with availability within UTC−6 to UTC+3. Listed hiring locations include EMEA, Argentina, Armenia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kenya, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

What you will do
- Design and build data pipelines and platform capabilities for AI applications, knowledge systems, and AI workflows.
- Develop ingestion, transformation, chunking, embedding, retrieval, vector search, metadata, and knowledge management pipelines.
- Build secure APIs, MCP integrations, tool-calling patterns, reusable services, libraries, frameworks, and developer tooling.
- Establish practices for AI deployment, observability, evaluation, lifecycle management, reliability, security, and cost control.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, and IT to take AI use cases from prototypes to scalable, maintainable production systems.
- Ensure AI platform capabilities meet security, privacy, access-control, and data-governance requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, backend engineering, ML engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong Python, SQL, data engineering, data modeling, orchestration, data quality, and secure data access skills.
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or comparable data platforms, plus dbt, Airflow, or similar tools.
- Hands-on experience operating production systems with LLMs or generative AI, including RAG, embeddings, vector search, AI agents, or tool calling.
- Experience taking systems from experimentation to reliable production, with attention to scalability, observability, performance, and maintainability.
- Fluent English and the ability to collaborate across Engineering, Product, and IT.
Nice to have
- AWS Bedrock or another managed foundation-model platform.
- MCP, LangChain, LangGraph, vector databases, or search technologies.
- LLM evaluation, observability, monitoring, AI quality, security, governance, or responsible AI experience.
- Experience building internal developer platforms, SDKs, APIs, or reusable infrastructure.
- A reliable home internet connection.
