AI Platform Engineer

Location: Fully remote; candidates must be based within UTC−6 to UTC+3. Listed locations include EMEA, Kenya, Nigeria, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

What you will do

• Design and build reusable platform capabilities for LLM applications, AI agents, RAG, tool calling, and AI workflows.
• Build data and knowledge pipelines covering ingestion, embeddings, retrieval, vector search, metadata, and knowledge management.
• Develop secure integrations between AI applications, enterprise data, and business systems using APIs, MCP, and tool-calling patterns.
• Create shared frameworks, libraries, services, SDKs, and developer tooling for engineering teams.
• Establish standards for AI deployment, observability, evaluation, lifecycle management, security, reliability, and cost.
• Evaluate emerging AI models, frameworks, and infrastructure technologies and take AI capabilities from prototype to production.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, backend engineering, or a related discipline, including production systems.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with solid data engineering fundamentals in pipelines, data modeling, data quality, and secure data access.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying production applications or services using LLMs or generative AI.
• Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector search, tool or function calling, AI agents, or enterprise knowledge systems.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Airflow, or comparable modern data platforms, plus shared AI infrastructure or reusable AI capabilities.
• Fluent English and a reliable home internet connection are required; work must be performed within UTC−6 to UTC+3.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Bedrock, MCP, LangChain, LangGraph, vector databases, or search technologies.
• Experience with LLM evaluation, observability, monitoring, AI quality, AI security, governance, or responsible AI.
• Experience building internal developer platforms, SDKs, APIs, or reusable infrastructure.
