Senior Principal Software Development Engineer (AI)

Location: Flexible hybrid model; in-person interviews may be required for positions based in the Boston and Dublin offices.

Salary: $191,000–$239,000 USD annual base salary / OTE

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy consumer-facing experiences serving approximately 45 million monthly visitors, from data and model layers through user-facing products.
• Provide technical direction for Consumer AI projects, including architecture, implementation, infrastructure, storage, memory, load management, evaluation pipelines, observability, and analytics.
• Build and operate production agentic and LLM-based applications with LangChain, LangGraph, and Langfuse in Python.
• Evaluate AI frameworks and tooling, develop proof-of-concepts, and communicate technology trade-offs.
• Define patterns, tooling, and best practices for agentic programming and multi-agent workflows.
• Partner with product, UX, analytics, data, and engineering leadership while mentoring engineers, leading workshops, and documenting architecture decisions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience architecting resilient, scalable systems and leading technical direction across multiple teams.
• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and deploying consumer-facing AI experiences in production.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, and Langfuse in Python and with AI platform and infrastructure layers.
• Broad knowledge of AI frameworks and tooling across languages and ecosystems.
• Full-stack experience across frontend, backend, platform, and infrastructure layers, including APIs and REST services in Java and production UX applications in React.
• Experience defining engineering standards, influencing technical direction, communicating across disciplines, and mentoring engineers.
