Senior Software Engineer (Autonomous Systems)

Location: Seattle, WA, United States; hybrid workplace

Salary: $145,000–$200,000 per year, plus potential equity, sign-on bonus, and other incentives.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize mission-critical software for autonomous systems.
• Develop real-time algorithms for heterogeneous sensor data, state estimation, and threat detection.
• Build LLM- and AI-driven systems that assess threats and support rapid response decisions.
• Integrate sensors, effectors, unmanned vehicles, and autonomous platforms, including individual systems and swarms.
• Engineer scalable, reliable, and fail-safe cloud and edge systems for high-stakes environments.
• Collaborate with robotics experts, hardware engineers, sensing specialists, and system integrators.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years contributing to system design or architecture, including reliability and scaling.
• 2+ years mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Strong proficiency in Rust, Python, C++, or Java.
• Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Active US security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain a US security clearance required.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous systems, embedded systems, or robotics software.
• Knowledge of AI/ML, sensor processing, swarm behaviors, and LLM toolchains.
• Experience deploying and maintaining robust production systems.
