Property Field Claims Specialist- CT - Remote

Location: United States, CT territory; fully remote, but must reside in the nearby area or be willing to relocate at your own expense. Approximately 75% of working time involves driving within the territory.

What you will do

• Handle property and inland marine claims for the assigned region, with support for other regions as needed.
• Evaluate and settle property-related damages, primarily with aggregate exposures of $25,000 to $100,000.
• Handle typical Business Income losses and investigate claims, estimate damage, obtain documentation, and deploy experts.
• Make coverage determinations, negotiate settlements, set reserves, and settle claims within established authority.
• Participate in the corporate catastrophe team as an initial responder during catastrophe claim events.
• Respond to legal, regulatory, and appeals matters and provide estimating assistance to regional claims specialists.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in the CT territory and reside nearby or relocate at personal expense.
• Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and ability to drive an automobile.
• Ability to work varying shifts.
• Proficiency with standard business and claims-specific software and efficient keyboarding skills.
• Five years of claims experience preferred, with thorough knowledge of Commercial and Personal Lines coverages and computer-based damage estimating.
• College degree preferred.
