Property Claims Adjuster II

Location: Birmingham, Alabama and surrounding areas; work from home with field travel to policy locations 3–4 days per week. The role requires rooftop inspections, occasional overnight travel, irregular hours, catastrophe duty, and availability to support additional territories.

Salary: $62,500–$115,500 annually. Expected starting range: $62,500–$93,500.

What you will do

• Investigate and resolve moderate to severe property damage claims by phone and through face-to-face inspections.
• Determine policy coverage, apply claims practices, and manage claim reserves through resolution.
• Write repair requirements and cost estimates using Xactimate and local market pricing.
• Conduct property inspections, including first- and second-story rooftops with pitches up to 8/12, while working in varying weather conditions.
• Identify fraud and subrogation opportunities and support investigations, litigation, trials, and recovery activities.
• Provide clear guidance and service to policyholders, claimants, contractors, attorneys, agents, and other partners.

Requirements

• Three to five years of property claims handling or insurance adjusting experience.
• Solid Xactimate proficiency, including experience writing estimates and managing claims from start to finish.
• Residential construction experience in areas such as roofing, remodeling, or water mitigation.
• Ability to safely climb ladders, access and inspect rooftops, balance at heights, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; willingness to travel, work irregular or extended hours, and participate in catastrophe duty.
• State licensing where required; Xactimate Level 1 certification must be obtained within one year and Level 2 within two years of employment.
