Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection (Property Insurance)

Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States. Remote-field work from home with a mobile office/vehicle, requiring in-person appointments throughout the assigned territory and occasional travel to other territories.

Salary: $63,089.65–$90,000 annually, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections and assess damage for residential and commercial property claims.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Evaluate policy coverage, terms, and claim validity while following regulations and company guidelines.
• Gather evidence, document findings, and prepare detailed claims reports.
• Collaborate with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders, including during difficult conversations.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits while providing customer-focused service.

Requirements

• Must reside within the listed Virginia Beach-area ZIP codes and service the assigned local territory.
• Ability to investigate problems, interpret policies and technical information, analyze evidence, and make well-supported decisions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with mobile and desktop tools used to document and support claims in the field and remotely.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, navigate roofs at various heights, and crawl through tight spaces; rope and harness training may be required.
• Valid driver's license, related bachelor's degree or equivalent property claims experience, and successful completion of required training, licensing exams, MVR checks, and background checks.

• Water mitigation inspection experience.
• Experience with Xactimate and XactContents.
