Field Claims Specialist II (Property Content)

Location: Work from home with required day travel to policy locations in Western Pennsylvania; Pittsburgh, PA preferred. Travel is estimated at 50%, with possible catastrophe travel and overnight stays.

Salary: $62,500–$93,500 expected starting range; $62,500–$115,500 national range per year.

What you will do

• Investigate and evaluate moderate to severe property claims, focusing on the contents portion of losses.
• Meet with customers or representatives to inventory damaged contents and research replacement pricing.
• Determine policy coverage, adjust reserves, and resolve claims within delegated authority and company guidelines.
• Coordinate with vendors on cleaning, restoration, and replacement of damaged contents.
• Identify fraud and subrogation opportunities and assist with litigation, trial, and subrogation files.
• Mentor less experienced claims associates and support training and presentations.

Requirements

• Three to five years of related property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Solid experience with XactContents, content inventory, pricing, repair, and mitigation.
• Residential construction, remodeling, or water mitigation experience.
• Knowledge of insurance theory, policy contracts, property estimating, automated claims systems, investigations, and settlements.
• Strong customer service, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; willingness to work irregular or extended hours and travel to catastrophe sites.
