Group Leader - Materials Testing/Inspection

What you will do

• Lead daily testing and inspection operations, including field activities, laboratory throughput, scheduling, resource allocation, and quality oversight.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures and monitor departmental performance, sales pipeline, and backlog.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration, subcontractor compliance, accounts payable approvals, and laboratory quality management.
• Manage laboratory accreditation programs and maintain compliance with AASHTO, Caltrans, AMRL, CCRL, DSA, and OSHPD requirements.
• Identify business opportunities, develop proposals, negotiate contracts, and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
• Mentor technical staff, provide senior review of project reports, and manage special projects.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in construction materials testing, including 3–5 years in leadership or management.
• Hands-on experience with construction materials testing and special inspection scopes.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, operational management, and business development skills in the A/E industry.
• Knowledge of construction materials testing standards and regulations, with experience managing laboratory accreditation programs.
• California Registered Civil Engineer licensure.
• Experience or certifications such as ACI, NICET, Caltrans ICC, AWS/CWI, or ASNT are advantageous.
