Wafer Sustaining Engineer I - Early Career

Location: Onsite at the Bloomington, MN campus in the United States. The role follows D Shift hours: Friday–Sunday and every other Thursday, 4:00 pm–4:00 am. Work may involve time in a Class 100 cleanroom.

Salary: $66,000–$79,000 base per year.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot and evaluate suspect wafers and manufacturing processes.
• Investigate scrap root causes, monitor tools using SPC, and address factory inhibitors.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers, maintenance, operations, and production teams to resolve product and factory issues.
• Maintain process documentation, passdowns, control management, and event management records.
• Use JMP, Excel, and Power BI for trending, data modeling, deviation identification, and dashboard deployment.
• Improve manufacturing and wafer build efficiency through process optimization, workflow automation, and support for R&D technology development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong communication, teamwork, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer and presentation skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Bloomington, Minnesota, on the designated overnight D Shift.
• Ability to work with nanofabrication equipment, measurement instrumentation, and cleanroom processes.

Nice to have

• Interest in Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Data Science.
• Experience or interest in Power Automate, Python, and OCAP-based automation.
