Principal Presales Solution Engineer (Retail)

Salary: $138,000–$235,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Lead technical presales strategy for strategic, high-value retail and automotive sales opportunities.
• Conduct technical discovery with executive stakeholders and assess business objectives, technology landscapes, integration requirements, and modernization initiatives.
• Design future-state enterprise architectures, integration strategies, deployment approaches, and phased implementation roadmaps.
• Deliver tailored product demonstrations, executive presentations, workshops, prototypes, and proof-of-concept engagements.
• Address architectural, security, integration, scalability, and implementation objections while communicating business value.
• Document solution designs and technical requirements, and support the transition from presales to implementation.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in enterprise software presales, solution engineering, solution architecture, technical consulting, or similar customer-facing technical roles.
• Expertise in enterprise solution architecture, cloud applications, APIs, event-driven architectures, web services, integration platforms, and distributed application ecosystems.
• Experience designing architecture diagrams, integration strategies, implementation roadmaps, and solution proposals.
• Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, executive engagement, financial analysis, ROI, and TCO modeling skills.
• Experience with complex mid-market or enterprise software opportunities, including multi-million-dollar deals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in retail, automotive, commerce, ERP, POS, warehouse management, supply chain, or related enterprise software industries.
• Knowledge of omnichannel retail, eCommerce, payments, order management, logistics, warehouse operations, delivery management, and returns management.
• Hands-on software development or implementation experience.
• Experience with AI, LLMs, AI agents, automation platforms, cloud platforms, and iPaaS solutions.
