Lab Inventory Support Specialist

Location: Ottawa, Canada

Hourly pay: C$24.37–C$30.89

What you will do

• Support lab stockrooms and maintain accurate inventory control records.
• Record deliveries, purchases, shipments, equipment loans, movements, and asset disposals in the GEMS inventory system.
• Coordinate equipment and material shipments, including marshalling, scanning, packing, and shipping paperwork.
• Receive telecom equipment and supplies, verifying quantity, condition, and model numbers against purchase orders.
• Update inventory databases using reports and handheld barcode scanners, and conduct physical audits of optical systems and lab equipment.
• Monitor assigned requests in Jira, resolve inventory noncompliance reports, and maintain organized lab, stockroom, receiving, and labeling areas.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily priorities.
• Strong attention to detail, customer orientation, organizational skills, initiative, and teamwork.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
