Senior Azure Network Engineer (Azure)

Location: Remote, based in Germany, with occasional on-site collaboration and anchor days at offices in Berlin or Cologne.

What you will do

• Design highly available Azure networking solutions across Azure, GCP, and on-premises environments using ExpressRoute, Virtual WAN, BGP, Azure Firewall, and Private Link.
• Build observability solutions with KQL, Azure Workbooks, alerts, Azure Monitor, and Azure Connection Monitor to detect anomalies and connectivity issues.
• Modernize network security through Azure Firewall Premium, network security groups, micro-segmentation, Zero Trust Network Access, and enterprise security standards.
• Establish Infrastructure as Prompt alongside Infrastructure as Code to improve automation, quality, and delivery speed.
• Design Azure governance guardrails, decentralized network management concepts, disaster recovery strategies, automated failover tests, and recovery simulations.
• Integrate Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, and network telemetry to detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats; collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and Sophos-based network teams.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in Azure networking, including Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, Virtual WAN, BGP, Private Link, and enterprise Hub-and-Spoke architectures.
• Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, KQL, Azure Monitor, and cloud observability.
• Experience challenging existing architectures and evaluating Infrastructure as Prompt, AI-assisted infrastructure management, and intelligent network automation.
• Ability to simplify complex networking topics, share knowledge, and provide clear architectural recommendations and decision papers.
• Ability to work remotely from Germany and attend occasional office anchor days or on-site collaboration in Berlin or Cologne.

• Google Cloud networking experience.
