Technical Service Engineer (Clean Energy)

Location: Based primarily at the Mountain View, California headquarters, with local and national travel required.

Salary: $100,000–$140,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Provide remote support by phone, live chat, and email to installation partners and Field Service Engineers.
• Coordinate sites requiring in-person visits and troubleshoot Lunar products remotely and on-site.
• Perform root-cause analysis for complex installation and electrical issues.
• Assess and approve field RMAs and manage technical escalations through resolution.
• Monitor system alerts and telemetry to proactively identify site issues.
• Analyze metrics to identify installer errors and recommend training, design, or hardware/software improvements.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on technical field experience.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and installing residential solar, battery, and/or EV charging systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex electrical issues, including familiarity with interconnection and AHJ processes.
• Ability to read single-line drawings, permit packages, and technical specifications for PV and ESS systems.
• Ability to interpret device telemetry and identify anomalies in large data sets.
• Clean driving record, successful driving background check, flexible schedule including occasional weekends and holidays, and willingness to travel.

Nice to have

• Electrical Journeyman certification or license.
• Experience with EVSE systems.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and applicable codes.
