Senior Manager, PMO – Product Development

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota; onsite Monday through Thursday, with the option to choose the work location on Fridays. Travel: 10–15%.

Annual base salary: $133,633.33–$186,830.00, plus incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead the Thermo King product development PMO, including portfolio governance, project and program management standards, and execution practices.
• Translate business strategy into prioritized product development portfolios aligned with demand, capacity, timing, investment, and business value.
• Lead annual and multi-year portfolio planning, innovation reviews, gate reviews, governance forums, and execution reviews.
• Own portfolio visibility across budgets, resources, milestones, risks, expected value, and performance metrics.
• Drive prioritization, tradeoff decisions, financial stewardship, risk management, process improvement, and business transformation initiatives.
• Coach and develop project and program managers while building organizational capability and influencing senior stakeholders across functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field, plus 10+ years of relevant experience; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Significant experience leading complex programs, portfolios, or PMO functions in product development, engineering, manufacturing, or a similarly complex environment.
• Experience leading people through coaching, performance management, and talent development.
• Experience with portfolio planning, prioritization, resource management, governance, financial planning, forecasting, and performance tracking.
• Ability to improve execution through standard work, metrics, operating mechanisms, continuous improvement, organizational change, or business transformation.
• Willingness and ability to travel 10–15%.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree such as an MBA or master’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
• PMP, PMI certification, or a comparable program or project management credential.
• Experience with stage-gate product development, portfolio management, Agile, Scrum, hybrid delivery models, PPM tools, or portfolio reporting systems.
• Experience in a global or highly matrixed organization.
