Technical Designer III (Aerospace)

Salary: $39.34–$55.07 per hour for Washington applicants. California and Colorado ranges may differ.

What you will do

• Prepare design layouts and create detail-part, assembly, and installation models using CAD and PLM tools.
• Create, maintain, and release fluid parts, tubing, fittings, assemblies, and mated connections, including welded interfaces.
• Develop and maintain engineering drawings and Model Based Definition data in line with design, drafting, and parts standards.
• Place fluid hardware in vehicle CAD models while coordinating with other subsystem teams.
• Review designs and drawings for compliance with specifications, standards, cost, schedule, and performance requirements.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design.
• At least 4 years of experience in aerospace development or a similar industry.
• Proficiency with Creo Parametric, Windchill, model generation, and engineering data release processes.
• Experience with standard fits, tolerance stacks, GD&T analysis under ASME Y14.5, large CAD assemblies, BOMs, ICMs, and skeletons.
• Experience with spacecraft thermal components and cross-functional design development involving materials and manufacturing processes.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted U.S. refugee or asylee.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Seven or more years of relevant experience.
• Experience with soft-goods CAD modeling, multilayer insulation, Model Based Definition, and design for manufacturability.
