NPD Design Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $83,400–$155,000

What you will do

• Serve as the Responsible Engineer and technical owner for multiple concurrent NPD programs.
• Design mechanical components, mechanisms, actuators, and assemblies from concept to production.
• Develop engineering drawings, technical data packages, and compliance matrices based on customer specifications.
• Lead prototype development, hands-on troubleshooting, and qualification testing.
• Perform structural analysis, FEA, and root-cause failure investigations.
• Present technical status and design reviews (PDR/CDR) to customers and internal leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in mechanical product development.
• Proficiency in FEA or comparable structural simulation tools.
• Demonstrated experience applying Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Must be a U.S. citizen to meet U.S. Government export control regulations.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in an engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA/FMEA, and DFMA.
• Experience qualifying products to MIL-DTL-23659 or similar military standards.
• Background in aerospace, defense, or automotive regulated product development.
