Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Spacecraft)

Location: Hybrid and onsite in Arvada, Colorado, United States

Salary: $100,000–$175,000 annually

What you will do

• Create and modify mechanical requirements and designs for new and existing spacecraft products.
• Review customer and business development requests and develop conceptual designs and CAD models.
• Evaluate designs against engineering principles, customer requirements, quality standards, and specifications.
• Support drafting, documentation, configuration management, and engineering change activities through ECR, ECO, and DCO processes.
• Investigate production issues and coordinate material, manufacturing, and manufacturability solutions.
• Design and develop test fixtures for environmental testing and contribute to proposal and solicitation responses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Seven years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• In-depth knowledge of 3D parametric CAD software, including SolidWorks and Siemens NX.
• Drafting and design experience using ANSI standards and knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience in an engineering, product testing, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills, including presenting complex technical topics.

Nice to have

• Design for Manufacturability experience or education.
• Siemens Teamcenter configuration management experience.
• Knowledge of quality processes and product safety documentation.
• Understanding of spacecraft design principles and spacecraft hardware.
