Location: Long Beach, California, United States; U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements and ITAR regulations.

Salary: $100,800–$126,000 base salary annually; total compensation including equity is $110,875–$143,625 annually.

What you will do

  • Support business development with proposals and mission concepts.
  • Develop lightweight satellite systems, mechanisms, deployment systems, and satellite bus configurations.
  • Create concepts and configurations for high-value science and interplanetary missions.
  • Own component designs from concept through production, testing, and operation.
  • Perform hand calculations and FEA to support design decisions.
  • Lead design, manufacturing, and test reviews while managing schedules, vendors, budgets, and deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or another engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience in the aerospace industry or another hands-on engineering role.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.
  • Eligibility to meet applicable U.S. ITAR requirements is required for U.S. office roles.
  • Ability to work with CAD, production drawings, and test and operations procedures.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or PhD in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
  • Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
  • Spacecraft or satellite design and deployment-system experience.
  • Hands-on development, testing, and thermal or vibration test-data analysis experience.
  • GD&T, systems engineering, requirements assessment, or interface control document experience.
