Protein Procurement Manager

Location: New York, New York, United States; in-office 4–5 days per week. Travel up to 25% of the time.

Salary: $95,000–$115,000 USD annual base compensation, plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead protein raw material procurement across all plants, including sourcing, inventory management, and supplier relationship management.
• Resolve complex supply issues through root cause analysis and continuous improvement programs with Manufacturing, FSQR, and external partners.
• Manage supplier and co-manufacturer relationships, contract negotiations, commercial terms, and material obsolescence fees.
• Own supplier KPI frameworks, corrective actions, and performance reporting.
• Lead material forecasting and translate market trends and cost drivers into plans for Finance, Manufacturing, and executive stakeholders.
• Source and onboard new suppliers while managing risk assessments and the protein procurement budget.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing, including leadership of cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience negotiating supplier contracts and managing supplier performance at scale.
• Experience with KPI frameworks, forecasting models, cost and budget reporting, and project management.
• Deep understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
• USDA, FDA, and Frozen Food experience required.
• Strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Docs; willingness to travel up to 25%.
