Shipping Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana, United States; on-site at the Port of Alexandria Facility

hirify.global' DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations business designs and supplies high-voltage, open-air substations, switchyards, and factory-built substations.

What you will do

• Unload inbound trucks, receive and inspect materials, and coordinate inbound and outbound logistics.
• Package, band, bundle, wrap, consolidate, and load project shipments.
• Reel and spool cable and construct wooden shipping crates.
• Perform light manufacturing tasks, including drilling and cutting aluminum and copper conductors.
• Operate forklifts, machinery, and other equipment safely while maintaining an excellent safety record.
• Support project coordinators and managers with emergency product deliveries and quality and productivity improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read measuring devices and perform basic shop math with fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.
• Experience using basic hand tools such as wrenches, hammers, and screwdrivers.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Nice to have

• Warehouse or manufacturing experience.
• Substation experience and experience pinning steel.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Experience operating lift trucks and man-lifts.
• Basic knowledge of assembling rigid and flexible bus conductors.
