Shipping/Receiving Clerk (Byhalia)

What you will do

• Prepare orders for freight, express shipments, and parcel post in accordance with shipping requirements.
• Sort materials into subplants, pack and crate orders, and attach or stencil shipping instructions.
• Receive delivered materials, verify counts and descriptions, enter receiving slips, and create box labels.
• Prepare packing lists, bills of lading, express receipts, receiving tickets, and daily shipping reports.
• Use barcode scanners, printers, label machines, and computer systems to process shipping and receiving transactions.
• Load and unload trucks and freight cars as needed and stack materials on skids for delivery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, overtime, and weekends.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain overhead crane and forklift certifications.

Nice to have

• At least one year of experience in a lean or continuous improvement environment.
• General mechanical experience maintaining equipment.
