Risk & Compliance SME (AI Focus)

Location: San Francisco, California, USA. Consultants in San Francisco and other primary market offices are expected to live within commuting distance and attend the office at least three days per week; more flexible in-person requirements may apply outside primary markets.

Annual base salary: $130,600–$135,700 for the Senior Consultant level, plus a discretionary performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Map and diagnose end-to-end risk, compliance, and operational processes.
• Design improved frameworks, systems, processes, and data requirements.
• Identify practical AI and automation opportunities, including workflow automation and agentic AI.
• Lead client engagements and deliver complex, client-ready workstreams and recommendations.
• Manage project timelines, stakeholders, meetings, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.
• Support proposals, business development, thought leadership, and team mentoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, finance, business, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of client-facing management consulting experience, preferably in technology or fintech environments.
• Experience delivering risk, compliance, or regulatory initiatives and applying AI adoption or workflow automation in business contexts.
• Strong client relationship management, communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; ability to collaborate across teams.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa or work authorization sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or MBA.
• Experience in financial services, fintech, or technology-driven organizations.
• Exposure to financial crimes, regulatory programs, data analysis, reporting tools, or process improvement methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools and agentic AI in compliance, risk, or operational workflows.
