Physical Security Project Manager (Access Control)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; travel to job sites is required.

Salary: $80,640–$134,400 USD gross base pay per year.

What you will do

• Plan and manage physical security system projects, schedules, resources, budgets, risks, and change orders.
• Conduct site assessments and coordinate installation of access control, CCTV, alarms, intercoms, perimeter protection, and related low-voltage systems.
• Manage subcontractors, technicians, vendors, procurement, permits, and on-site installation workflow.
• Lead inspections, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, safety compliance, and quality control.
• Provide client and stakeholder updates, dashboards, project documentation, and reporting under IT/CSD PMO standards.
• Coordinate project closeout and handoff to support teams.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience managing physical security or low-voltage installation projects.
• Strong knowledge of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related hardware and software.
• Experience with AMAG, Software House, Genetec, or similar access control platforms.
• Ability to read construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency with project management tools and PMO documentation practices.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.

Nice to have

• PMP, PSP, CPP, or manufacturer-specific certifications.
• Experience with general contractors, integrators, or enterprise security teams.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and job-site compliance.
• Construction management, electrical systems, low-voltage trades, or physical security integrator experience.
