TL;DR
Calibration Engineer (Automotive): Leading propulsion calibration for ETC and Torque Security functions across assigned vehicle programs with an accent on test planning, CAN data analysis, validation, and release timing. Focus on resolving complex calibration issues, conducting root-cause analysis, reducing launch risk, and mentoring calibration engineers.

Location: Hybrid in Milford, Michigan, with attendance at the designated location at least three times per week or as directed by the manager.

What you will do

  • Lead propulsion calibration for ETC and Torque Security functions from strategy and test planning through validation and release.
  • Partner with calibration, technical, development, validation, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to establish priorities and calibration strategies.
  • Design and execute advanced tests using vehicle and CAN data to identify calibration and design improvements.
  • Triage CTF fleet feedback and special-support issues, lead root-cause analysis, coordinate resolutions, and communicate risks and recommendations.
  • Support vehicle development trips, launch-critical concerns, and cross-program calibration challenges.
  • Mentor calibration engineers and provide technical guidance through forums such as TRB.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, computer engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Extensive hands-on experience developing, validating, and releasing propulsion calibrations to program timing.
  • Proficiency with calibration and data-acquisition tools such as INCA/ETAS and vehicle CAN data-recording systems.
  • Deep understanding of propulsion control systems, subsystem interactions, advanced data analysis, and issue resolution.
  • Experience collaborating across design, validation, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future GM immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Master of Science in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience with additional calibration software, analysis tools, cross-program troubleshooting, or TRB activities.
  • Background in advanced test design, calibration optimization, and hardware design and release processes.
