Accounting Associate (Insurance)

What you will do

• Collect, transact, reconcile, and record insurance carrier commission statements and payments.
• Analyze, identify, and record unearned commissions.
• Review and resolve commissions that remain untransacted in open activities.
• Use software automation to improve billing and accounting processes.
• Identify trends and develop subject-matter expertise for assigned carrier partners.
• Collaborate with profit centers and carriers to resolve billing errors and maintain efficient relationships.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of financial accounting and applicable state regulations.
• At least 2 years of accounts payable experience in the insurance industry.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and standard office equipment.
• Proficiency with Vertafore AMS360 products.
• Ability to maintain accurate records, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate effectively.

Nice to have

• College degree in a finance-related field.
